Solar Eclipse in Portugal

We were invited by Scott's older sister, Bev, to come join their family + friends group in Lisbon, Portugal for the 2026 solar eclipse. We chased the sun for the entire 3+ hour flight from Venice to Lisbon, and it was quite spectacular. The shmears of orange and red on the horizon were out of this world . . . I've never seen anything like it before!! After we landed and collected our suitcase, Bev and her husband Ken were there to pick us up and bring us back to the AirBnB, which was about 30 minutes south of the airport. The house they rented was very spacious for the 7 of us staying there: Bev and Ken, their friend Kay Bishop, Scott and me, and two of Kay's friends - Mary Jo and Ruby. Eclipse Day: (August 12th) We had the whole day to play before the eclipse was due to begin, so while Scott and Ken stayed home to gab about guy stuff, all the ladies piled into two cars to go on a morning adventure.
