Getting Ready to Head Out

This has been a very busy summer! Not only was there a temple wedding and backyard reception to prepare for (which was beautiful and lovely and all things wonderful), but as soon as the dust cleared from all the festivities and family and friends, we had to move immediately into Phase 2: Prepare to leave our home for an entire year!

We've been organizing, down-sizing, packing stuff up, and making room for Caleb & Bethanne (our nephew & his new wife) to move in. It's coming together in these final days, but there is still much to be done. A lot of people have offered to help in one way or another, but really this is not something to delegate out. We just have to buckle down and sort through one closet at a time, one shelf at a time. We don't have to clear out every room in the house, but we are focusing on cleaning out the master bedroom and bathroom, as well as a couple other areas. It has been satisfying to get rid of items and memorabilia that aren't as important as we once thought, so there's that.

We wanted to invite everyone to subscribe to my Blog because this is the best way to keep in touch with us over the next year and to know where we are and what we're doing. I will send out something to which you can subscribe at your leisure. All future posts will (hopefully) be available via a notification - probably through an email - showing that a new post is up and ready. You can then go in and read the latest and greatest at your convenience.

Loose plans for us for the next year are as follows:

Scott -
Head down to Fort Bliss, Texas (El Paso) for some training (1-2 months)
Then head over to Kuwait - with the possibility of being assigned somewhere in the middle east other than Kuwait (i.e. Syria, Egypt, Dubai, etc.)
Come home around the end of July 2020

Michele -
Head out to CA to help my mom, my 98 year old grandmother, my dad, and my sister with a variety of things. Stay out there until Christmas.
Come back up to Idaho for Christmas break to spend time with my boys
After Christmas, head south to Arizona and Texas to stay with family until the end of January
February: make my way across the southern states and up the east coast to West Virginia a little at a time, doing family history along the way. Travel forward when the weather is good, hunker down when it's not.
March: stay with Scott's family in West Virginia and do some family history while there
End of March: fly out to Italy to visit Benson and travel over in Europe for 3 months
Before July 4th: fly back to the U.S. and begin driving back across the northern states to Idaho
End Goal: Be home by July 20th, 2020 to get home before Scott :)

WISH US LUCK!!
